Dea Herrera-Ruiz

Dr. Dea Herrera is Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). She was appointed as Associate Dean for Research from 2014-2016. As a Fulbright scholar, she earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Rutgers University (USA). Since 2005 she became adjunct professor at the College of Pharmacy, University of New Mexico. She is a founder member of the Mexican Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (COMAEF) and Vice President (2010-2014, September 2017-) and was also President of the Mexican Pharmaceutical Association (AFM) from 2014 to 2015. Dr. Herrera-Ruiz research interest is focused on the areas of API solubility and absorption enhancement. She is a current member of the Editorial Board of Molecular Pharmaceutics (ACS), and Editor for the Americas for the Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy journal. Dr. Herrera-Ruiz has recently been honored with the national award “Premio Leopoldo Rio de la Loza 2017”, for her research contributions to the Pharmaceutical Sciences.
